head hurts from all the LT choices

ok theres way to many people making long tube sheaders for the Ls1.

i would like to install longtubes and have minimal ground clerance lost.
what headers are the best for that--

FLp's i hear are good but hit the floor board @ WOT. not good ethier .

i also hear that Kooks get the best gains, but hows the ground clerance??? were can i get a matching y pipe and how much are kooks neway?

SLp i hear are crap because you lose alot more ground clearnce with them.

what headers are there that lose the littlest amount of ground clearance and have a y ipie that i can buy for them. no good shops around here to make a y pipe.

the pace setters are nice - http://www.pacesetterexhaust.com/camaro.htm

another pretty popular choice are the Hooker LT headers. JetHot makes a modified version of the Hookers with their ceramic coating (not sure if its worth the extra $300.00 though. keeps the pipe about 250++ degrees cooler but even Jethots own dynos they didnt show significant, if any gains with the coating i dont believe).

Thurder Racing's hooker header section

also the hooker off-road y-pipe seems pretty popular as well if u need a pipe as well.

I think it is worth getting the Jet Hots because, they have the same basic design as the Hookers with improvements and the coating. To coat a set of Hookers it costs like $250 Also, the Jet Hots are NOT $300 more.
Hooker = $406 (summit)
Jet Hots = $511 (coated and shipped)

sounds like a good deal to me.

as for that link for teh pacsetter headers there are no headers that fit LS1 f-bodies.

and i will need cats, but they can be moed.
i am thinking about the FLP headers cause from what i hear w/ my borla exhaust it will sound really sweet and i will be able to have a off road pipe or a legal y pipe.

We carry Pacesetter LT headers for the F-body. Try this link out:
Texas Speed.

Thanks!

by an additional $300.00 i meant for the coating. as you stated it was about 250 to have it done on the hooker headers.. which w/o it cost like 200ish? and the JetHots alrdy cost more. my friend and i were discussing this yesterday and we honestly couldnt justify the coating. sure its great to have a pipe running 200++ degrees cooler but if its not giving you any gains (which it doesnt) nor do you lose anything.. whats the point?

Minus the cooler underhood temps (although it's still hot as hell), coating the headers will prevent them from looking like s**t after only a matter of months.

The hookers I had on my '96 looked pretty nice for a little while but a couple months down the road, there was surface rust all over them. Obviously, it didn't hurt performance at all but if you're the kind of person that likes to pop the hood and show off that nice clean engine bay...you'll want coated headers.

w/o it cost 200?

what do you mean?? The Hookers cost 406 + 250 (for coating) = 656 for coated Hookers.
Or you can spend 511 and have Hooker design with improvements, better fitting, AND coated already.

That is $140 less for jet hots than coated hookers. Seems like a no brainer to me.
