have questions about water pump

I just discovered yesterday that my water pump leaks. From looking at it, looks like a lot of work. Does anyone know any tricks on how to change it? would u guys suggest putting a new pump in? It might be a gasket, but when I have it apart I can change the pump.

Re: have questions about water pump

It's not that bad. The only trick that I know is that you can work the power steering pump mounting bracket bolts out all together to avoid having to remove the pulley.
If the car has some miles on it I'd replace the pump.

Re: have questions about water pump

you could always splurge and get a Mez electric pump...better flowing and frees up a few ponies
