Has anybody put an LS1 in an LT1 car?
I'm thinking about buying a Z06 motor and putting it in my 97 TransAm because I'm getting a very good deal on it. I'm wondering what problems I will run into? I will be getting the motor and the computer/harness, so what will I have to do to get this to work properly? Also will I be able to use a 4L60E out of an LS1 for this motor?
I think there have been posts regarding this swap in the past and I'm sure it's been done.
Just curious, what's a good deal on an LS6? Can you hook a brutha up?

Yes it is possiable but you do need to perform modifications to the body. I'm not sure about the T/As but I do know that for the Camaro you need the Ultra Z hood if your going to keep the LT1 front bumper. It's possiable but it looks kinda funky. I wish I could give you more info but yes it is possiable.
You can do that swap.
You will need:
Engine
Motor mounts
Exhaust
Engine Control Harness
Corrrect transmission
Accessories
Fuel lines
I have a local friend who could probably make that swap actually happen who has a 97 V6 and he converted to a 99 LS1. There are a few small issues that he encountered during the swap.
If you don't do it let me know I know someone who might buy a Z06 engine.

My friend put an LS1 one motor and 460LE transmission into his 1994 V6 Firebird, he had to make his own wireing harness, but back then they didnt have painless wireing harnesses but now they do. He didnt have to cut any of the body, if i remember correctly he just had to change the p osition of the motor mounts. But its been 2 years or so ago, myt membery of specifics are kind of faded and i didnt help him with all of it. If you have any questions or anything ill g ive you his email address, he knows how to do this from side to side, front to back.
