Harmonic Balancer Wobble

NEW SS 345 HP... PROBLEM EXISTED FROM DAY ONE

HARMONIC BALANCER HAS LATERAL RUNOUT (WOBBLE), APPEARS TO BE BETWEEN .050 & .125, AT LEAST IT IS VERY VISIBLE TO THE EYE.

DEALER REPLACED IT...NEW ONE SEEMS TO WOBBLE WORSE.

LOOKED AT ANOTHER SS...DOES NOT APPEAR TO WOBBLE..

DID I GET A SECOND BAD BALANCER, OR DID THE DEALER INSTALL IT WRONG?

HELP

Could be the damper isn't seating on the hub correctly.

How is this advanced tech?

Anyway the answer is this...

Either the balancer was not seated correctly.

The exterior portion of the crank was milled incorrectly.... but then I would assume that the engine shakes while at idle.

Or.... you got an out of round balancer... (again?)

Pure Stock:

We'll guess your new SS is an LS1.....

This belongs on "LS1 Tech", not on Advanced Tech.

Moving.......
