hard starting causes

Can anyone tell me what can cause hard starting? Anything specific in the LS1s? I would really like to get the problem fixed, I've been dealing with it for a while...

What do you mean by hard starting? Engine turning over OK? Got a SES light?

No SES light. First thing in the morning, it starts just fine. After driving, I turn the car off, it starts right back up just fine. If I let it sit for any length of time, it takes me 2, sometimes 3, turns of the key for it to start. And lately, when it finally does start, it'll idle really low for a couple of seconds and then jump up to normal.

Any mods?

If you can repeat the process, grab a friend and a fuel pressure guage to make sure you're getting enough fuel. It might be the pump acting up on you. You should have a constant ~58psi at the rail.

yeah sounds like air/fuel problem... if getting fuel pressure OK then probbaly the sensor and if not then probbaly the pump.. also plugs couldn't hurt while your at it cause if its been running with the mixture out of spec then there is probbaly some build up on the pulgs but those things will keep on firing just depends on how perfect you want to be

Just tested the fuel pressure..........I turn the key and the psi jumps to 58 and the car starts up fine. I turn the car off and the psi falls to about 20 or so. I turn the key again and the psi jumps to 58 and it starts fine again....even after 5 min. After a 10 min. wait, the psi has SLOWLY decended from about 20 to around 8. I turn the key again, and the psi jumps to ONLY 20. The car does not start. I turn the key again, and the psi jumps to 58 and the car starts fine. I hope this explanation can be easily understood.
