geez, i made a comment in the LT1 forum about how much less flow the LT1 heads have compared to LS1 as a simple observation, and i got flamed and insulted by half dozen people.

comments like
"welcome to 1997"
"what a ***, using it as a reason to state the obvious"

but yeah...it is nice to have that potential

Yes, the ls1 heads come with far more flow from the factory. I just don't like it when people try to say that either is superior. Each is good in its own right. They're both smallblocks. The lt1 you can put 11* or 18* nascar heads on. The ls1 is friendlier to bolt-ons, etc. It is obvious that the ls1 would be better though, simply because it is a newer design. That just how it works. It's just not as popular yet because its fairly new. Once it gets cheap enough and there are enough aftermarket parts to modify it, it will then put the lt1 out of business. Kinda like how they used to use wooden wheels. Or how meat used to be preserved with salt instead of freezers.

Re: Guess My Dyno Numbers

Its erdiculously sad how much stock lt1 heads suck. If I put a 230 cam in my lt1, i would probably make about 350rwhp as opposed to your 400.

nevermind the heads, the brakes really suck. schmidt519 ran against each other and after 2 runs neither one of us had any brakes left. we pulled over to let them cool down. we both agreed to save up for wilwood brakes. but back to the heads....ive been told the stock ones can be ported and flow as good or better than the afr's. whats your take on that? i was told it can be done for $1200.
