Gteched a 2002 Z28 A4

One of my friends has a gorgeous blue/purple 2002 Z28 A4 with a ground effects kit.

Absolutely no mods, not even an airfilter, no free mods, nothing.

On full tire pressure it ran 14.0@107mph on my Gtech.

At 22psi with both of us in the car (I was driving and I weigh 190lbs he weighs 140lbs) we ran 13.61@106mph. The car only has 6000kms on it or about 3700 miles.

That was after doing a small burnout to clean the tires and then revving it to 1100rpm and mashing the gas.

It bogged a bit around the 20 foot mark but picked up and pulled at the top end.

My Gtech is accurate to withing 1 tenth of a second with our local track.

Not bad.

I would definately have gotten manual though. Huge lack of torque.

Thumbs up

Well, those numbers sound about right (although the MPH seem a little high??). My car when bone stock ran 14.129 @ 101, and with the new lid ran 14.008 @ 103......................I know that seems a little slow, but my first night at the track, traction was horrible (even with 2.73's I was spinning into 2nd gear?! ) and the 2nd time I went to the track, it was very hot and humid (although traction was better).

What gears does your friend's car have?? 2.73's or 3.23's?? You can check by looking for either "GU2" or "GU5" in the list of codes on the driver's door jamb sticker. GU2 will signify 2.73's, and a GU5 will mean 3.23's.

It seems funny that the E/T got quicker with both of you in the car though!? I guess maybe the car got better traction that way??

I would love to get a G-tech --- the closest track is over an hour away, whereas long, straight, quiet roads are only minutes away!!! Too bad they're almost $300!

My 2002 Z ran a 13.75@101.36 with just a K&N filter. I've since added intake mods and exhaust and ran a 12.98@108.47
This is an A4, stock 10-bolt with 3.23 gears and the stock Eagle F1s with 30psi.
Definitely strong cars!

They are about $139.95 last time I checked...

http://www.gtechpro.com

The Tazzo gives you more info but I havent used one... The guys that run this site have and they seem to think its definately worth the $$!!
THIS IS A LIMITED TIME PROMOTIONAL PRICE. REGULAR PRICE IS $169.99.
Tazzo VPC - $159.99 plus s/h
(Tazzo Vehicle Performance Computer, six foot cigarette lighter adapter cord and plug, set of low-profile dual lock pads, owner's manual)
Tazzo VPC Windshield Mount (optional) - $19.99 plus s/h
(Black, heavy-gauge powder-coated steel with Tazzo logo on side )

In any case, they are accurate on the ET providing you take the time to get it (the G-Tech) zeroed out good.. and the road is perfectly flat.

I recently watched a bone stock 2002 A4 run 13.9 @102-103.

They read a higher mph because they give you terminal speed at the end of the 1/4 whereas the track takes your average over the last 60 feet. They are about $139 to $149. I have had mine for over 4 years it has worked great without any problems. And my car went like 13.4@107 don't remember exactly, but it was a while back when I did it. I use the 0-60 option more often, it lets you know the basics of what your car is doing and IF you get caught the fine is much cheaper at 60mph than 110mph
