Gotta Problem

And dont know what it is. My check engine light has been on ever since my header install and all of the sudden it starts to blink. My car is getting all bumpy and feels like everything is shaking. The exhaust note is different and car feels like it has no power. I pull into a parking spot as soon as this happens and turn off the car wait 10 sec and turn it back to see if it stops but it still blinks. Does anyone know what my problem might be? I didnt just get gas, and I still have 3/4 of a tank so its not that. I was thinking maybe a misfire?

Re: Gotta Problem

Man, sorry to hear this - is there any way you can get someone to pull the code(s) for you and post them?

Re: Gotta Problem

Probably is a misfire. Check for any burnt plug and/or 02 sensor wires, make sure everythings plugged in tight. Knowing the code will help nail it down.

Re: Gotta Problem

Yea turns out it was a misfire in cylinder 2. Is it ok to drive a little with this or should I try to not drive until fixed?

Re: Gotta Problem

If you're just going a couple miles at moderate speeds to limp home you'll probably be OK. Change that plug/wire first if you can and see if the light stops flashing or goes steady - I'm assuming it's just an electrical problem, if you hear any strange noises don't drive it.

Re: Gotta Problem

Damn they make it so hard to get to the spark plugs even the #2. I tried about everything and finally got a extension to fit but that old plug wont budge, been trying to get that thing out for 30 min.

Re: Gotta Problem

I always thought it was easier w/headers, guess not. Remove the air pipe first if you have to, should be able to get to it with just a plug socket and ratchet. Hang in there...you'll get it.

Re: Gotta Problem

Ive done it about 10 times ive found the best and most pain free way to do it is take the coil pack off the pass. side to free up the extra room. the coil pack it self may give you some trouble on the rear bolt but its a life saver on the rear 2 plugs. And the best way to get at the rear plug on the pass side is from under the car with LT's. the driver sides a BREEZ
