I have heard it many times, trying to find out, but when you guys refer to a hot cam....what is it? What involves getting one, and for those of you who have it. How much and what did it do for you? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

specs are 219/228 duration, .525"/.525" lift 112 LSA.

Yeah, doesn't do much.. LOL.. You drive a car with one over a stocker.

Quite a bit bigger than the Z06 cam. I'm pleased with mine for now, especially at the price. When the time comes to do heads I'm going big.

Z06 cams have a higher lift .550" .550". Ive heard that the z06 cam will give awsome gains to a ls1. is this true?

2002+ Z06 cam = 204/218 duration 551"/547" 117.5 LSA
2001 Z06 cam = 204/211 duration 525"/525" 116.0 LSA

Here's the deal, yeah it may have a little more lift in the 02+ but less duration, therefore it's a smaller cam. Duration is how long the valves are open. Lift isnt what it's all about. They are both pretty small. Of course a Z06 cam will act like stock for drivability and should run perfectly fine on a stock tune.

Also the higher LSA makes it idle more friendly too.

Of course with a big cam there are drivability issues. If I were going in there I would go bigger than a Z06 cam. I am going big next time.

It's a GM high performance cam that you can buy from your local Chevy or Pontiac dealer. Here is a link to the cam but remember that your local dealer can also get it for you. http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...=1981&pid=1089
