You just don't need one at this point in time. And the computer uses MAF readings to determine load and set line pressures for the tranny. With an aftermarket converter line pressure for clutch lockup is critical.

If I do put a cam in, it won't be for a year or two. It at least looks a lot easier to install than on the LT1-that was a PITA.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2000 SS as I stated before and got the extended warranty (arround $2,500 i think)

Since december when I got the car

1. New transmission , 4000 dollars covered
2.Altenator , 350 covered
3.catalytic converter, Going to get it right now, they said close to $1000 covered.
4. almost forgot water on passenger floor (soaked) covered.

well I guess you probably get my point.... If you aren't going to do any major mods (Supercharger, Nos, Heads/cam) get the warranty and stay happy.

My car wouldbe sitting or sold if not for the warranty.

those prices seem really high. It's 1000 for performance A4 tranny rebuild, alternators run about 150-200, and cats would prolly be 200-400 for performance replacements.

Of course they are high. Dealer prices.

And i got a whole NEW tranny (M6) thats why 4000.
I am including labor though.

Oh yeah My friend has a 2001 Z28 A4 arround 24000 miles, just went in to the dealer for a new Tranny ,Cracked it somehow.(156mph with 4people in the car, and he wondered why it wouldn't shift out of 2nd)

OK well if you are going to upgrade everything when it breaks then thats the way to go.

Since you have a 2001 I'd recommend the SLP lid. It is the only one that has a hole for the air pump hose that goes into the back of the stock air box lid. SLP sells the kit or it comes with it. I just went to Auto Zone and got the required stuff ie grommet, couple of hoses and a male/male connector.
