Which gets better traction? WS6 or SS?
Which gets better traction? WS6 or SS?
Lets start the debate! Which 98+ F-body gets better traction and 0-60 times, Trans Am WS6 or Camaro SS?
I've heard MANY times that the WS6 gets better traction, and doesn't fish-tail like the Camaros do. My WS6 gets awesome traction.

Ws-6's and TA's are a litlle heavier, so they would be more opt to "hook up". Camaros' are a little lighter so they may tend to get a little wild sometimes. In a nutshell, the cars have the same suspension and chasis charecteristics, so neither car should be any better than another unless weight is added or subtracted. When you start talking about optional suspensions, you get into another ball game.

Ughhh... this is a waste of time and the only thing it's going to accomplish is starting a big flame fest between owners of each make. You will NEVER be able to tell what car gets better times because you will NEVER be able to poll every single FBody that is ran at a track. I've seen times where a Camaro will get better traction and vice versa. I will even directly quote what I posted in the other thread:
"Bottomline, it's basically the same damn car when it comes down to everything besides appearance. So what you are seeing is the driver factor. Camaro/Firebird are capable of the exact same times, it's up the the driver/weather/track conditions/elevation/blah blah blah on what runs what."
They are almost exactly the same car. One does not have a definitive advantage over the other. But if you really want to get down to it, the fastest stock recorded FBody to date was a Camaro so I guess that answers your question.
I remember reading on a post similar to this that WS6s had better supsension, Well, the SLP suspension package was offered on the SS too! So if u took a loaded SS and and a loaded WS6 they would even have the SAME suspension. Anyone that tells you different is in Denial or is missinformed. Period!
