Not sure where to post...
My guage lights on the spedo and tach do not work. when the headlights are off the milege light and the oil lights and that work, but when i turn on the head lights every light shuts off except the security light and it stays on all the time.

I just pulled out my gauges thinking the lights were burned out but everyone of them is good. what do i check next?

 

ok i got it. it was a dimmer fuse. the previous owner replaced the 5A fuse for a 10A fuse and wired some fog lights to it or something. wiring in this car is nuts. but even though the fuse tested good i pulled it and it was so corroded it was not making connections. replaced for a good 5A and its all working good.

 

That sucks. You gotta hate when you buy a used car and the previous owner rigged all kinda **** on it.

 

yea there is no telling what is messed up. the lights were like a walmart fog light with wire everywhere just twisted together and taped and somehow wired into the front of the fuse panel to like 3 different fuses. he had an amp also ghetto wired with the remote wire wired into one of the fuses as well. the car has its twerks but i think with a little work it will be fine. nothing wrong with the engine so far though so thats good...

 

when i bought my car, my lights didn't work. at the time i thought it was a fuse problem. but as i was driving it home at midnight using a cell phone to check my speed, i realized that the dimmer switch was off. lol
