Gas Tank Size

I have a silly question. Does anyone here know the ACTUAL size of the Z28's('99) gastank? Edmunds.com says it's 16.8 gallons, but I've never been able to put more than 13.5 or so in it at fill-ups, and twice they've been with the needle literally a hair above the E-line. Anyone got the straight story on this? And I can't find where the latest "how do I tell which gears I have in my Z28" thread is at, so if anyone has the answer on that as well, I'd be highly thankful for the help.

Don't mean to change the subject TOO much but once the 'Check Gages' light comes on from low fuel... approx how much gas is still in the tank? I always wished my '95 had a light like that

BTW... '99 is the first year they went from the 15.3 to the 16.8 tank isn't it?
