Dude took it to the track as well. This cam is proving to be insane.

Im just waiting to see how friendly this cam is going to be on valvesprings.

It sounds mean as a mother too. Have you seen the 227/224 in a Vette video? Sounds like stock

With the full setup (ported heads), this cam can make 460 rwhp on the stock displacement. Wow. I want to see how one of those setups runs at the track.

Does anyone think that this cam would ruin some catalytic converters? I mean, it's got huge duration (something like 230+/240). That would put a lot of gas in the exhaust. I wonder if your only option with this cam is an off-road pipe.

it's a 232 240 595" 609" 112ls cam. There's a group purchase going in the group purchase area of ls1tech. 10% off if they get 10 people. Cam works fine with stock heads (no flycutting) and Lou has said it will work with 2.02 valves as long as the heads have NOT been milled.

For me, CATs would only be for smog time, otherwise they will clog up, rob power, and if you road race at all when you tune the AF properly there will be no CAT protection by being overly rich @ WOT. Who knows how long the CATs will last, even if its a full 2 years, that is still a bit too frequent to replace for me.

how much more hp/tq do you think is obtainable on that setup he has with gtp stage2+ heads, or other s2 heads that perform just as good/better than the gtp heads?

Sorry to do that in a rude manner. I was directed to do a search on LS1Tech.com for the G5X2 cam..and I found a bunch of stuff on there.

Apparently, guys are getting from 455 to 470 rwhp with that setup and some good heads. Just simply nasty! I wonder how high it will get when a better intake manifold for the LS1 is released?

With 460 rwhp, you'll have a chance to get in to the 10s. Vortech what?
