FTRA and Direct Flo lid
This combo has not proven itself to me yet! I have been to the track 2 time and have been let down 2 times. I know that the Direct Flo is worth every penny but by adding the FTRA I have LOST 1 tenth and gained Omph in the 1/4!!! WTF And those losses where with Nittos running better 60' times
Times went something like this....
12.78@ 110.x 60' 1.98
12.80@ 109.x 60' 1.99
12.82@ 110.x 60' 1.98
The Nittos are very consistant, the only complaint is that Iam bogging! Gotta practice on these so I can pull some 1.8x's!
Bottom line the FTRA and Direct Flo are NOT a good combo.

Don't give up yet! The bogging is what's killing your mph and ET. If you bog an LS1 off the line, it takes longer than you think for it recover, hence the lower mph and slower ET. What rpm are you launching at? What do you have air pressure set at in the Nitto's? What you need to do is, launch at a high enough rpm where you slightly spin them, but they're still getting traction, understand? When you're bogging, your car is falling completely out of its powerband, where as when you're slightly spinning, it's staying in the powerband and not losing any rpm's.
I usually launched @45-5000 rpm's with the mods in the sig., and although the 60' don't look that great, you can't argue with the results.
Just go out and give it another shot, because like anything, it's just gonna take some practice and getting used to.

Iam launching around 3000rpm and running 18psi in the nittos. Iam kinda ify about launching @ 3500 and higher since Iam still running the stock clucth. The tracks here are closed for a few weeks.
I will give this combo a few more trips to the track
I just got spoiled after each previous trip to the track with new best!
Maybe I should run 25psi in the Nittos so I can get a little spin of the line. Iam going to order the Harlen Shift Light today, that should also help keep my e.t./mph more consistant.

Honestly, 3000 rpm's is way too low to launch these cars. Whe I was on my stock clutch, I was launching @5500, but slipping it just a lil bit. By doing that, I was allowing the tires to grab a lil, but still spin a little, and it worked awesome, but you just got to get the feel for your clutch. Whatever you do, DO NOT ride it out, just slip it a tad bit, right until you feel the nose come up, and the weight transfer to the back, and then just dump it and go. You'd be amazed.
FRA and Direct Flo Lid work very nice together, or anyother lid i guess. FRA allows access to a bigger volume of air and when you are at speed (65mph +) Iam sure it gives some type of ramming affect.
