Mine do it when I go WOT and rip through the gears. FLP told me it's usually the passenger side one and to place a rag over the header just before it connects to the ypipe and use a pry bar and give it a lil bend. Call'm up.

Umm.. wouldnt that cause a fire under your car. Your exhaust gases can get really hot and a rag could concevably catch fire.

I believe he meant use the rag only while you're prying so you don't damage the header.

It is a common problem with the FLPs. They tuck up nicely, and give a lot of ground clearance (compared to some other long tube headers), but the drawback is that they can get close to the floor.
Seems like most of them actually hit on the *driver* side - mine included. I 'fixed' it with the "band-clamp-and-split-heater-hose" method I found on LS1.com...
good luck,
Shane

Can anyone explain what it sounds like when it hits at WOT. Would it be like a constant tapping while its under load or is it one bang and done. Im curious but they only banging i have is on the tunnel brace and Y pipe when going over large bumps.

Cool

I just put them on about 2 weeks ago and every time I grab a gear real hard it feels like it hits the floor and when I got under the car I seen what I think is whats hitting on the drivers side. I have a ES tranny mount so I no it isnt broke. Is everybody having this problem?

I had the same problem on my LT1 car. I ended up going with the heater hose solution.

The heater hose solution was suggested by a friend of mine. I have Jet-Hots, and they are a nice header, but tuck up just a bit too close on the driver's side.

So how did the heater hose solution work out for you guys?

You want to get it fixed. I have seen this on the dyno and it kicks in the knock sensor causing the computer to reatard the timing and loose power.

eww the jethots hit the floorpan also? ack. do hookers do this too? (rnt jethots modified hookers?)

with so many options out there id be discouraged from buying these headers with a problem like this.. but dont the FLP's put out the best results? (dyno wise)

/tek.
