Flows and warranty
My wife and I just purchased a 2000 model Z. We were wanting to put on the Flowmaster cat back system on it but we wanted to know about the cars warranty. Will putting flowmasters on the car void the car's warranty? It is still under the factory warranty until next year. I've noticed a lot of ppl here are using aftermarket exaust and thought someone here would be able to shed a little light on the subject for us. Anybody????????????
Thanks in advance for any help.

Technically the only thing you are voiding is your stock exhaust, since its no longer on the car. Some dealers will give you the run around about adding blah blah power, and the car wasn't set up to flow so much blah blah blah....
Either ask to see the manager, or go to another shop. You'll find a GM dealer ship that will fix what ever problem you have.
Just so you know, if you have any issue with the exhaust they will charge you for it, as it is not a stock part.
-This is my understanding on this.

Well heres the thing if the car is a 2000 Z28 then the factory warranty is almost up so no need to worry about it. If you purchased a extended warranty then from what my dealer told me most extended warrantys dont cover the exhaust.

Here's the deal... Whatever you replace with aftermarket parts is yes voided. Being that you are just doing the Flowmaster only the warrenty on the muffler will be voided nothing else. If they tell you other wise go to the Vortech's page they have a site that explains in detail what the gets voided and its acuatully a group of people that make the laws on these kinda things. Now a cool thing about Flowmaster is they have lifetime warrentys so you are covered. Normally like its said Exhaust isn't covered because there isn't really anything that could break except the cats...

Thanks for the help guys.
I'm not worried about the warranty on the muffler but I didn't want to risk losing the extended warranty on the rest of the car. I didn't know what bolting on "performance parts" would do to the warranty on the rest of the car.
