I had a Flowmaster 80 series welded on for about $90, it was alright definetly louder than stock, one of the sponsors had a GP recently where I'll be getting LM for under $300 shipped.let you know right, now I'm ', running no muffler cut it off at the muffler inlet about two weeks ago sounds like a dump truck IMHO.

Our exhausts are clogged by the cats and most of all the factory muffler. Get that off there and you'll gain power.
I'd put money down that no matter what cat-back you use on a car the hp gain would be within the margin of error of any dyno. Same goes for just changing the muffler.
A cut-out might be worth a tiny bit, but most folks think they sound like a$$.
When you buy a muffler or cat-back, buy for the sound you like and/or the tips you want.
Check my sig, I have a video clip of a car that has the same system my car has. The Dynomouth. You might like it.
Dave

PS: It cost me $140 installed!

You talking performance or sound??

As far as sound the LM will be louder.

As far as performance the LM will give you more, as matter of fact the FlowMaster will deliver no significant gains over a stock exhaust.

Good Luck

No, I can't believe you said that. anything is better than that choked off POS stock muffler. The fact is that 90% of the gains from cat-back mods are from dumping that muffler. Not from adding .25" to the I pipe. The gains to be had with a Flowmaster would be significant over a stock muffler, and if it were cat-back to cat-back with another brand, the difference in power would be within the margin of error for any dyno.

Big difference, get the Loudmouth, I can't remember where I dug up the info at but flowmaster is one of the worst performance flow mufflers you can buy.

But even if it's not and my memory serves me wrong, I'd still get the Loudmouth

Sorry I've got the dyno pulls to prove it. Every time I opened my cutout on my stock muffler I gained 10-12 rwhp. Did this about six times.

After putting on a Flowmaster, when I opened the cutout I still gained 10-11 rwhp ... As you said well within the the margin of dyno error.

If the Flowmaster was flowing more freely than the the stock muffler I would have seen less gain when opening the cutout.
