Flat Tire
Flat Tire
Well, I was going to grab some supper, since the rest of my family was having chinese (not a big chinese fan) ... so I got into the SS'er .... and went down the street, and noticed the car was pulling off to the right, but also that happens because of the crappy roads.... but then I get on a newly paved, and it still does that... so i get home and take a quick look aroudn the car ...and sure enough.. right front ... almost flat... so I jack the car up (barely [1 cm clearance] fits under) and take a look at the tire, no nails or anything... look around some more and notice a crack right by the sidewall
Tire Pic
is this repairable????... or am I gunna have to get new tires? NOt to mention the shocks are crap on the car, was going to spend money on that... but right now the car is on jack stands... and im unhappy.

When was the last time you checked the pressure in the tires? Maybe you have just overlooked that tire for a while... Tires lose air over time even if they don't have any punctures.
The picture is kinda blurry, but if the "crack" is where the arrow points, the tire is not repairable. If that is the cause, that is.
There doesn't necessarily have to be something stuck to the tire to lose air. Something can just puncture it and never stay on it.
Just put some air in it and see if it holds and go from there.
Good luck!

All you gotta do is pump it up w/ air, put some water over it and look for bubbles. Mark where the air is coming out w/ a pen or something and take it to a tire place, or even some gas stations, and they will patch it if it's a fixable. My dad ran over a beer bottle on the road and left a huge gash that was about 2-3" long and all the way through, somehow they managed to fix it.
Another thing is to check the valves. I pumped up my tires one day and the next two of them were flat when I didn't even drive it. The valves were leaking so I just poked them with a small stick a couple times until they stopped hissing.

nope, that area on the tire is not repariable, at least at my work it would not be(America's Tire Co./Discount Tire).
a gas staion fix isnt the best route, theyi from seeing them in tires they seem to be a big stick hammered into the tire. seems temporaty to me. also, if you were to get another flat that is fixable and decided to take it to my work, we would trash the tire, call it no good and have the customer get a new tire or a used one if availible. or they could get the spare put on
easy way to find a flat is to dunk it. fill the tire up to about 35 psi, and dunk it in the pool or bath tub. look for bubbles. if the tire isnt punctured, could be a bad valve or a minor leak from the bead, in which a new valve will be used and some bead sealer will be brushed on the wheel before putting the tire back on

if you actually got a crack in your tire fixed it will not be like brand new. i wouldn't drive it that hard. i would recommend just getting one new tire. or if you need 4 soon drive it nicely and just wait
