Fix broke starter ear of block?
Fix broke starter ear of block?
well i've searched some and found a few others that had this issue but have not seen a fix.
Needless to say, I went to start the camaro the other day and the starter kicked back and when I went to check it an ear of the starter and the ear off the block (out side bolt) were both broke, the starter side is not a big deal since i got another starter, but what can I do about the block part that broke??? Can I JB Weld it? Any special adhesive?? Is it ok to have it welded?? I'm at a total loss cause now I don't have a car to drive and it looks to need a block because some idiot engineer didn't make it strong enough to save a buck...
Ideas would be great...

I saw this happen in my shop on a C5 vette, they just got a guy who knows how to weld aluminum to fix it. The other option if you have enough left is to turn the bolt upside down and put a nut on it to clamp the starter. Good luck I know that sucks.
