Talking First post on LS1 forum!!!

I'm picking up my 2002 Trans Am on Thursday, so I figured I would make my first post here since I am now part of the LS1 club As you can see from my sig, this car is gonna be a big change for me... The next 3 days are gonna drag by. I'm clueless about these cars and what they can really do. Everyone says their underrated... looks like I'll find out on Thursday!!! Any tips or advice for when I get it?

Congrats!!!
Enjoy the new ride!
My first suggestion would be to buy some Zaino to keep that baby looking like new.
Watch out for the mod bug, it's gonna bite you! It's ok though, it gets all of us, hehe.

I actually ordered more Zaino for the Stang... little did I know I would be using it on a 2002 Trans Am

... With $700 a month going just to insurance/payment I won't be getting the mod bug anytime soon

Is that Mustang a GT? If so, you lead a charmed life indeed.

No, it's a lowly v6, I can say that now This will actually be my first v8. The Mustang will be gone as of Thursday (trade-in). I got a crappy trade-in for it, but the with 0% interest for 60 months I couldn't resist.

Oh, ok. Good idea. I work for a Pontiac dealer, and although I knew I'd lose my rear end on my 2000 F-150, as soon as I found out about 0% for 60 mos. I was out on the back lot looking for a non Ram Air T/A. When I found we actually had a Formula in stock that pretty much did it. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks. I went to the Pontiac dealer today and of course they didn't have ANY firebirds in stock So they searched around and found me one, I haven't actually seen the car yet. I payed full MSRP. They called a bunch of dealers and none of them wanted to give them up because the sticker price for them was around $33k The car they found is Navy Blue Metallic with Ebony leather. It's 500 miles away so I have to patiently wait for it.

Yeah, I think all we have left now is a few six cylinder cars. I don't work for one of the dealers that didn't keep many, either. My dealer sold the most Ram Air cars in the southeast as well as the Blackbird tuner cars. I bought mine in July, so we still had about twenty cars. Fortunately, sticker price doesn't apply to me. I scored the Formula for 24k.

I picked up my '01 Formula 2 months ago. I haven't grinned this much since I was 19 and picked up my new '69 Road Runner. The Formula is my first V8 since the RR. Good luck!

Heh...you're gonna have some fun with your LS1. Just don't beat on it too much until it's broken in. Good Luck with it.

Well, I just started a new f/t job (after finishing college) in June, and I picked up the new car the day before I started work!! Even considering that the car costs me ~$1000/mth (CDN), I've still managed "a couple" little "treats" for the car (aka: Direct-Flo lid, K&N)................so, it IS possible to do on a "tight" budget. I certainly don't plan to stop where I have either --- like, duh?! --- next year the car should see a set of 3.73's, and then???????????????????????? I'm not sure what next, since I've got big, BIG plans for it eventually!!! But, I'm seriously considering SFC's (sub-frame connectors), and maybe a STB (strut tower brace)..........and maybe stiffer shocks too next year. However, I do want to upgrade the stereo, and eventually get different rims, and better tires, and then start into serious engine mods - ie: heads, cam, headers, etc., etc.................................

Yeah, you'll catch that bug too!
