first mods: exhaust?

I got my SS about 6 months ago and have been reading the formums ever since... I finally decided to start modding my car but can't decide what to start with. I was thinking about doing the exhaust first, starting with headers, catback, muffler etc... I don't want it to be too loud... (am also planning a cam swap eventually) but more evil sounding than stock. Would Jet hot headers, oryp, and magnaflow work? I've also heard that gmmg makes a nice sounding exhaust, but would it be too loud? or worth the money? also, I read something about loss of back pressure or something with too large of an exhaust... Don't know much about that, but would it be a problem? thanks for the help! this is my first post!
