finished my true dual exhaust, and it sounds AWESOME
That's awesome! Glad to hear it went well and that you're happy with it. It's encouraging to hear that TRUE duals are possible, and that you got them over the rear end too
.
I gotta say though, ...

I was about to buy headers and i was just wondering if i get the headers, y pipe, and a cutout, will that sound better, and get more hp gains than true duals or will it be less in both categories? Any input would be greately appreciated.
I think if you read above, Eric L mentioned that someone had a car dyno'd before and after installing true duals, and they gained power all the way through (although more down low). In terms of "sound"? Probably personal preference, but I think I prefer true duals

Installed them last week, with some custom hangars that bolt to the DSSL bolts holding them up. Sounds great, picked up top end, and very cool.
No Y, X, or H pipe. Just straights with bullets and side exit

sorry i have been away from the message board, been busy. i cant say how much power i gained, i have not had it dynoed and did not get a great run at the track, from the run it def has more power then before, but i was shortshifting at 5700 for some dumb reason and the car def likes 6000 shifts better, but in the mentime i burned my sychros out, so hopefully in a week or so i can have #s from the strip to compare to before. I would be interested in building a few of these setups if anyone is interested, right not all i can tell u is that is sounds unbelievable, doesnt rattle. i will try to get some performance gains up ASAP. and pictures when i get time
Yea you need a balance pipe. If not then the cylinders on one side that fire together cant squeeze out the pressure in just that one side of pipe. With a balance pipe it will even it out to the other side. Thus gaining you more HP. Helps the sound too
