A few questions about CAI....
Well first of all, I have a WS6.. And I was on thunderracing.com looking at the SLP kit; but it said "not recommended for SS and WS6 applications". Why?? I have already done the free ram air mod so should I even buy the kit? Let me know something guys. Thanks in advance

As far as I can tell, this part has nothing to do with what the hood does! BUT, I think WS6 cars have taller air lids or something like that... Anyways, on the link, scroll down to the SLP cold air kit.

Am I just dumb, or is there no point in this? The WS6 already has CAI... (of course they call it ram air, but cai is the proper term for it)
You've already got cold air flowing at a high rate through your nostrils, so you already have this mod on your car stock. There's no point in adding any aftermarket CAI/"ram air" kit, or doing the free ram air mod as far as I see.

because ss ram air sucks
and that it gives ss like 10 or 15 more hp is big
thats why stock ws6 beats ss all day long

All I know is I did the free ram air mod and DID feel a difference. You guys are making it sound like air can only come from one source?! I have it coming from the hood AND below the lid. And I'm thinking that the cold air kit will smooth the air coming in below the lid, making it less turbulent. But maybe I'm crazy.
ok frst off u dint see a differnce...u r mod happy....
when i frst got my car and added whisper ram air i thought for sure had 200 horses added from it....
u can try but i would never ever do it......buy something else

ok u cant tell a tiny hp addition like that.....
there prob is gain but u cant tell......
u cant get inot a car and say it has free ram air by driving it
u can get in car and say its got cam....
get what im sayin......unless u went to track and saw lower times....but those could be debatable too

Think again ... air coming into the lid from the hood flows on a path that is about two 30* angles - one up and into the filter, then down and into the MAF. The !FRA is essentailly on a path that is one 90*, straight up into the filter then a full 90* turn into the MAF.
Now you want to intersect these two airflows at the filter and claim that is is less turbulent??? And of the two sytems the AI is going to be the more turbulent of the two, requiring the more radical change in air direction.
More air? Maybe? But less tubulent ... highly unlikely.
