Who has taken their LS1 the fastest and still street driveable?

I don't trust my car going over 70

 

fastest i took mine was 140. It started to feel like the back end was lifting off the ground. Need more downforce.

 

Took mine to 140 in a race against a 67 chevelle with a 502hp 502. Felt fine but was getting close to running out of road. FYI the chevelle had like 4 cars on me and was still pulling hard if i had to guess he was going 150-155

 

fastest ive been is 140 and it felt pretty smooth. would have taken higher but the highway i was on wasn't in ideal shape for top speed testing.

 

Fastest I've been is 160. It was still pulling pretty hard, but I know the limiter is set around 162 so I backed off.

The fastest I've gone is 155 down I-5. Car pulled great and with ease.

 

I've taken it to 140 lotsa times, with the tops off, windows down, doesnt seem to matter but I always run out of road . It's rock solid at that speed with plenty left and thats even scarier but I love it. These cars are so fast, I changed my governer to like 255 with the hypertech but I really dont know how fast they go (yet ).

 

The fastest I've had mine up to was 130 a few weeks ago on the highway at dusk. The highway was practically empty for about a mile in front of me, so I thought what the hell?

I was doing 70 and it got up to 130 really quick. I decided to kill it right there because a car going 130 is very noticeable to cars on the other side of the highway, I didn't feel like getting a ticket and I was approaching traffic in front of me. I had my windows down and the car was solid, like others here said. Everything outside was just a blur.

 

I pushed 155 on the freeway on the way to the LA auto show, took no time at all to push 155... I've done 140-145 mph on surface streets on many occasions. Accelerating to 140 takes no time at all so I do it whenever I can. Then again I'm just a stupid 17 year old with a fast car... no tickets yet.

 

it was very interesting to me reading how common 140 is ESPECIALLY because that is my highest too. BUT, it sure felt like there was plenty more there JUST to many worries on my part, at the very least just getting flagged at that speed would be really bad. I concur with the rush of going that fast and how everything is just a blurr...

 

I once raced an RX7 on the highway in the middle of the night..decided to keep going and touched ~170 mph, based on my calculation (speedo was pegged). I could feel the front end lifting..it was a little scary. This was with 323 rwhp. I don't think it had much left in it, and it surely couldn't have pulled 6th gear. I imagine a solid heads/cam package could approach 190 mph.

 

187 MPH, HPPIII limiter removed, hit 6200 RPM limiter in 5th!! On a German Autobahn. Hit 6th, and speed would drop to about 165MPH.
Sounded like a freight train inside the car from wind noise though.

 

I have hit 160 mph in 5th in my Ls1......


in the LT1 I have seen 178mph on the laptop and it was still pulling like a train....if I can get to 6,400prm's in 5th it would be 195mph.....I just looking for a reason to go out to west Texas to find out .......

 

Just don't do it in Kimble county on I10. I got a ticket for doing 84 in a 75 out there last year!!!!
