Fast Toys Ram Air

Anyone running this? I did the free ram air mod, will this give me a noticible increase in power over the FRA?

yes it works well. I checked my IAT's before the install (30-45min) then tested after and the results "I" got where a consistant 10-12* cooler with the FTRA. Now that was outside the city....not sitting in traffic ect....on some back roads. I think it really starts to shine when you breach 100mph. This is just my personal experince.

Thanks for the responses, hopefully I'll be picking one of these up in a week or 2, can't wait to give it a highway shot to test it out.

I dont like the SSRA because of how far out it comes. I would scrape it or brake it to pieces on all the parking blocks or curbs around here. I like the FTRA because it tucks up higher and comes with a block off plate.

Don't pull so far over the curbs and blocks. You don't have to keep going until your tires touch. I won't even put the tip of the cars nose over one and I don't have a chin ram air kit.

I learned not to pull so far over when I first got a chin breathing car and the air dam scraped a few times.

Its easy to say but it only takes one time to ruin a nice ram air kit

those mass produced parking curbs don't come anywhere near the SSRA scoop. there is about 2" of clearance between them.

so unless you make a habit of pulling the nose of your car over curbs that are 8" or more high...you'll have no problem.

in 3.5yrs of owning the SSRA i have only scraped once...and that was a drunken mistake

Back in.

If you had a C5, you wouldn't be able to touch a parking block without scratching the front.

The FTRA is a proven and tested mod. We have been selling them since 1998! A few companies out there have copied or product or portions of our product. The FTRA is made of sturdy T304 stainless steel, is stealthy when installed and will last the life of your vehicle.

We also include a block off plate and removable front seal.

You can read an independent review at www.installuniversity.com . They only tested the FTRA is the 1/8 mile and still saw consistent improvements. In the 1/4 mile, they would be much better! They also saw fuel mileage increases!

We also are always available for support and technical questions.

Thanks!

The new SSRA is made of flexible plastic. Its supposed to bend rather then break. I have mine sitting at the house just waiting to be installed .

I've had my FTRA since 2000...it is a quality piece. You won't "feel" 10HP any way you slice it, but I still give it a "thumbs up".
