FAST intake/TB questions...
Hey all!
I have been looking at these, and have a few questions. On Tbyrne's site, I seen a note that said the 90mm TB and intake was only recommended for stroker motors. Why is that? Would it hurt the performance of a non-stroked motor? I have most of the bolts ons, cam, headers, K&N, etc. I figure if I am going to spend that $$, to get the 90mm in both while I am at it.
I need some opinions on this. I also seen some excellent prices on ebay, when I did a search for them.
How many of you have the 90mm set up on your stock motor? Anyone dynoed these and seen significant improvements?
Thanks!

Re: FAST intake/TB questions...
you won't see any peak gains and you will lose some power down low if you put a 90mm intake on a stock cubed motor.
if you had ported heads, you would see decent peak gains with less loss down low.

Re: FAST intake/TB questions...
i would go with an LS6 intake manifold and a ported stock throttle body unless you can get a FAST 78mm for equal price. the FAST will give your <5rwhp over an LS6 intake.
you should expect 10-15rwhp with the LS6 over the LS1 with the RARE 20+rwhp occurence

Re: FAST intake/TB questions...
i agree...i don't think the cost of the FAST be justified by significant gains.
if you REALLY want to upgrade the intake, a middle ground setup that still yields great gains is something from TPIS. they turn the LS6 intakes into a 90mm TB.
