My buddy bought a set of heads and there is a small chip on the edge of the combustion chamber. The company he bought them from say's they will replace it but could take 2 weeks to get a new one. They also said they would go ahead and use it. The problem I have is the chip is right on the metal ring of the head gasket. I would wait for the replacement.

 

yep that would be a leaker

 

Not to mention the edges of the chipped part might cause hot spots which would lead to detination.
