fan switch mod

I did a mod that turns the cooling fans on with a toggle switch.
I tyed into the light blue wire under #1 fan relay. Is there a way to tye into high speed fans instead. Will I only see a difference in lower cooling temp when I install and 160 t-stat? Or will the fan mod work alone? Thanks Ron

You probably need the 160 stat and the fan switch together to get the best results. I don't think you fans will keep the engine cooler than 210 without the aid of the t-stat. The fan switch is more for when your engine is off and your waiting in line at the drag strip.

I have the SLP fan switch and it does work without the T-stat.
It also has high and low settings though, on a very hot day engine temp stays at 170-175 (on the gauge).

This is the procedure I used: http://www.fbody.com/members/safbody/faq/coolfan.htm
I used a wire splice on the LT. blue wire under #1 fan relay instead of pulling the fuse box out. I routed the 14ga wire up the way outlined and then slipped in under the door seal and behind the kick panel. I put a switch under the dash panel below the steering wheel. I have had 2 guy's with Mustangs looking at my car ask me where the N20 was hidden. Who would think you could have so much fun with a $2.00 single poll switch! Ron
