A/F ratio with longtubes?
A/F ratio with longtubes?
Could someone tell me whether long tubes tend to make the air/fuel ration rich or lean on an untuned LS1. I've gotten both answers and i was looking for some input. I personally tend to think rich but if headers lean it out im gonna stop beating on it till i get a tune....thanx for any input.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the cars run a little bit on the rich side from the factory already?
However, I think that when you run headers, the O2 sensors will pick up more heat, which makes them think that the engine is running hot due to a lean condition, so it will signal for more fuel, and thus cause the engine to actually run rich
(I don't know if that's accurate, but it's a theory I heard one time, that also related to running higher compression as well
).
