Alright i've got a question for you guys. I just installed my catback this last sunday and I've noticed a smell coming from the exhaust. I was just wondering if this is normal.

 

Check for leaks

 

I did i didn't hear any ticking. Also the smell is from the tail pipes.

 

what does it smell like?
It could be bad cats.....
Or sometimes new exhaust just smells a little until it gets broken in. When i had my truck i installed a dynomax muffler on it and it smelled funny for about 2 weeks then it was fine

 

Did you get it welded on? Welding smells for a few miles. Also could just be the exhaust breaking in.... or a bad cat.

 

bad cats should smell like sulfer (rotten egg).

 

If it doesn't smell bad...if it smells kinda...well...carish then it is probably the welds if you got any when it was installed. I remember mine smelled for about a week or two, then went away.
