Exhaust Dilemma (Does it ever stop?)

I went around all day today and I talked to a few people. They told me the free flow can exhaust is better flowing and sounds better. I told them that alot of people I have spoken with love a bullet muffler which is used in loud, dynomouth. Is it true that there wont be an equal flow from both sides? They also said im looking at only a gain of 10hp, is that true? What about the cats while im getting this done can i drop them or should i buy high flow ones? What would be the best bet with the cats if i were to go the dynomouth route? Everyday its something else.

I was a little confused by your post. But upgrading from stock exhaust to a dynomouth style exhaust will gain you about 10 hp on a stock car.

If you don't have emissions in your area, lose the cats, otherwise keep the stock ones. The stock ones are actually pretty good. No need to spend $100s for high flow cats that will net you 2 hp.

Most aftermarket exhausts will net you the same amount of power--not much.

Don't lose the cats, it's not worth the money or hassle with an otherwise stock car.
