Exhaust choices and emissions + other power addons

....OK first of all I searched....

I was thinking of getting an exhaust system on my 98 Z28 A4 with 2.73. But I still have to pass the emissions (not the visual part of it since they don't really check that here in Canada yet). What would be the hp gain to justify the buy? What would be my choices? I don't want nothing that sounds rice but something that shakes the ground.

Second what other great power adder's can I get to make that car an angry beast.

I also have a NOS wet kit that was intented for a Dodge Stealth. Instead of getting rid of the kit where can I find the necessary hardware to make that kit fit my application nicely. Is there any TB plates for the LS1's?

If you are talking about cat backs, any of them should pass emissions. If you go with LT headers you will need to so one of the below:

1. By two new cats (you can use the stock ones but its not worth it) and have a custom Y pipe welded up with bungs for the 02 sensors.

or

2. By one of the expensive header setups (FLP, etc) that comes with cats and Ypipe to fit them (in which case they usually come with an OR pipe so you could put the cats in for inspection and then unbolt them and put your OR pipes in - you will need o2 sims though)

I'm going with option one sometime in the not to distant future. I feel confident enough in the pacesetters and everybody who has them seems to love them. About $320 US for the coated ones. You can pick up carsound cats for about 60 bucks a peice I believe. I'll install the headers myself and have a shop fab up the Ypipe and cats - about $100 to $200 (i might be wrong on those estimates but it seems about right). And you might need extensions for the 02 sensor wires.

Something I haven't figured out yet - how do i get the car to the welder one I put the headers on. Surely driving into town with just headers is not a good idea - what did everybody else do. I know people have installed their own headers and then taken the car to have the Y pipe made. How did you get it there.

EDIT: Article on carsound cats from install university - http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...n11.122001.htm
