My service engine light keeps coming on with the code for evap sensor , is it in the gas tank ??? or some where else ? ive changed the gas cap so its got to be the sensor ... has anyone had this problem ? if so what fixed it ?

 

had it on a 3.8, reading codde 0441, and it turned out to be a purge vlave switch ( little black plastic part - cost about $20 at dealer)... but not sure if it is the same set up on a V8??

 

Look up the code/diagnostics at gearchatter.com for your year, there's a few different EVAP codes. Buddy of mine kept throwing P0442 (small leak), shop had to pressurize the system with smoke to find it.
