Engine Temp gauge questions...

We know that the first model year of the ls1 had a fairly accurate temp gauge. But because it actually fluctuated with the engine temperature, customers complained and they changed the temp gauge to an "idiot" gauge for the 99+ model years.

I am wondering what part(s) it would take to make a 99+ car have an accurate factory gauge like the 98 cars. Just a sending unit? New instrument cluster? Any ideas?

Thanks
-Brad

See, I went with the AutoMeter temp gauge and the pillar pod. The only problem i have is hooking up the sending unit, the one that came with the gauge doesn't fit the drivers side head and haven't tried the passengers side yet. Any suggestions on how to hook this gauge up??? Please anything would be appreciated, i have been posting this everywhere and no one responds?????
