Well, the McCord got a bad rap after their first production model started stripping gears and/or burning out the motor. Since then, the McCord Power Plate 2 has come out and solved those issues.

I am running the McCord PP2 on a Flowtech 3" cutout and have had zero problems with it. Why did I choose McCord over QTP? Simple, I got in on a GP with McCord.

So, buy whichever one gets you the best price.

A lot of guys in this area run the McCord, but he lives here and does a lot of tuning for people in our local group.

I have the QTP and currently have it apart. It started vibrating and making an annoying noise after a few months. I have come to find out that there is a little too much play in the gears, allowing the plate to vibrate even when it's closed. I have to call them and see if they are willing to help. If they aren't, I would say not to get the QTP. If they are willing to fix it and do a good job, then I would recommend it. I'll repost with my results.

talk to barry at QTP. Mine has had problems twice. (one was my own fault ) It's being fixed right now, under warranty, even though the warranty has expired already.

Barry has awesome customer service. You should NOT have opened it though. You may have voided the warranty. Mine rattled at first, but Barry fixed that.

I've had the QTEC on for 6 months or so and havent had any problems with it at all. Barry was great, shipping was quick, and it works perfectly...

Probably my favorite mod so far

Dont know much about the McCord, but I definitely recommend QTEC

Good luck

Another vote for the McCord...i've had it for about 3 months now and have had no problems...even went thru some deep water a few times in heavy rain and it still works perfectly
