Ebay

I was wondering if anyone out there ever buys parts for their LS1 from Ebay. I recently bought the skip shift from there but have not been brave enough to install it yet. Also was wondering about the smooth bellows I see on there and the other parts. Anyone out there have any bad/good experiences out there or does everyone pretty much stick to the usual suspects (slp, etc)
Also I bought an unmolested 2000 SS M6, Ttops, Asr about a year ago for a really great price. I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about finding the original documentation for the car. Also, I have only ever owned older camaros (a couple mid 70s and an early 80s) so I am not real sure what documentation would come with it. I know the SS's are numbered but how do I find out which number mine is.
And last but not least (the reason this is in tech) I am a car guy. I am just not a fuel infection/computer car guy, or at least not yet. How hard is the ported heads, LS6 intake, rockers cam swap? I could most likely get all the parts I need for less thatn 3000 and I am willing to do the work myself (I have rebuilt a couple engines in my garage, not to mention most of anything else that can be found on a car prior to TPI/TBI) but is the fuel injection/computing tuning afterwards hard at all? Anyone out there who did that swap who can give some good insights would be most appreciated.

And just to introduce myself I am Rechtien, have owned camaro's since I was a kid. Have had a 75, 78, 82, and a 95 Lt1 trans am which I traded in for the 00 ss. In my free time I fly a 3000 + horsepower apache helicopter to earn money (and defend my own right) to blow out my neighbors eardrums at 3am when I decide to start my car open headers.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

You should be able to get your build number from slpeng.com. They used to have a message board set up to get these numbers but it appears to be either down or gone completely. I'm not sure if you can get copies of the window stickers from them or not. That is the only documentation that I have for mine. As for the Ebay parts, I too have been tempted by the bellows but I have no idea if they are legit or not. It seems to be too good to be true.

By the way ity's good to see a fellow Missouri F-body owner on here. There far too few of us....

Alot of skip shift kits on e-bay are just a resistor you jam in the plug. A good skip shift kit by SLP, Hurst or JET include a factory style connector to plug into the harness and the tranny.

As for the fake SLP bellows on there, go to menards or lowes and get a Fernco pipe coupler for $5-6 they are the same thing. Some are real look at the pictures though. The strait rubber ones with a single ripple in the middle are fake.
