E/t Streets What size rims

I'm intrested in getting a set of Pro stars and E/T streets for my 99 SS. I was just curious what size rims and tires you guys run on your cars.

Width, backspacing, any help would be appreciated for the fronts and the rears. Also I wont be using these on the street very much if at all. Thanks

For the stock 16 x 8 inch rim you can use “26 x 10.5 x 16”.

I just picked up a couple of salad shooter rims cheep. I plan on putting a set of ET’s on them soon. I'll only be using them at the track. I think they will make about a 0.2 second difference in my 60 ft times. Especially since I’ve had a 3000 stall converter installed since the last time I was at the track.

Good Luck!

Al

P.S. They All so make a "26 x 11.5 x 17" that should fit on the stock 17 inch SS rims.

Here is what I went with from Summit Racing:

Weld Draglight 15 x 8 5 x 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 with 4 1/2" backspacing. $148.95 x 2

Wels Draglight 15 x 3.5 5 x 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 with 1 3/4 backspacing.
$114.95 x 2

Mickey Thompson ET Streets MTT-3053 26 x 10 x 15.
$159.85 x 2

165R15 from PepBoys $29 each

MR Gasket Wheel Spacers for front MRG-2371 5/16" thick $11.95 x 2

Lug nuts from AutoZone $1.28 each with spacer.

You will need to grind your rear brake caliper down a little.

I run:
Rear--Weld Draglites 90 series 15 X10, 7.5 BS
Hoosier Drag Slicks 28 X 10.5

Front--Weld Draglites 90 series 15 X 3.5
Volkswagon all season radials

The rear slicks are about as big as you would want to go, and will require some love taps from a 15# sledge.

Alternate to drag slicks (DOT Slicks)
Mickey Thompson ET Street 28 X 12.5
Hoosier QTP 27 X 11.5 or 28 X 11.5

Hope that helps. Personally I would reccommend the Hoosiers over the MT. More tire/track contact patch.

I just decided to ditch my 26 X 10.0 ET Drags. Too small for 4.10 gear and new transbrake setup
