Dyno: What gear?

OK a different thread got turned around to another topic and I had to ask.

I had **** poor #s in my 01 (274/298) and I was wondering what gear did you M6 guys dyno? I did 3rd, because that was what I did in my LT1....what gear should I have dynoed, and how much did it matter?

I actualy have tested this rumor on a dynojet before. I've had my car pulled in 2nd, third, and 4th gear. The numbers are all within about 10 HP of one another, with 4th yielding the highest numbers. If you want some killer numbers, have the guy run it up in third, and bang 4th while testing HP.

4th gear. also bump up tire pressure as much as possible and take out your air filter

that will yield a few more ponies your way

3rd gear should actually yield higher numbers from what I understand. I had mine dynoed at 302/315 in fourth and 278/??? in fifth.
