Dyno Tune Today...

Dyno Tune Today...
Well i got my car tuned today.....(sorry for the confusing post, im trying to explain the whole situation)
previously in its current condition it made 314 rwhp and 312 rwtq unlocked and 337 rwhp 348 rwtq locked with the STOCK tune...
todays pulls were on a dyno known to read about 7-10 hp lower than the one that gave me the above results...
my baseline pull netted 306 RWHP and 305 RWTQ unlocked (further proving that the dyno reads lower than others)
after some tuning i picked up 15 hp and 30 ( ) ft. lbs of torque to read 321 RWHP and 335 RWTQ unlocked.
my locked pull gave me 341 RWHP and 349 RWTQ...
overall i gained 15 hp all the way up the curve and a NOTICEABLE 30 ft lbs of torque all the way up the curve. (the lack of significant gain in the locked #s is due to the lower dyno reading and the fact that my converter is more efficient than the one i pulled the old numbers on)...
either way, 15 horses on a stock internal car is pretty damn good i would think. 341/349 seem like stout numbers for a stock motor automatic...what do you all think?

sounds about accurate for your mods. now just get a cam kit, and it's "welcome to the 11's!"

Nice #'s!!! So what was the verter you took out?? Looks like you could use just a LS6 intake and maybe home ported TB to get you some solid 11sec passes So how do they lock and unlock the verter on the dyno?? Edit: what is diffrent on the 4l65e tranny?? how do you like it??

2)the LS6 intake is on the list, the throttle body i will get to when i can lol. (im hoping for an 11.9X in cooler weather without this stuff tho.)
3)there are a couple ways to lock and unlock the converter. the tech can use a scan tool to just manually engage the TCC solenoid and lock the converter...i believe the way they did mine was to temporarily tune the TCC solenoid to remain engaged even when the Throttle Position Sensor was at 100%. after that, they just set it back to normal.
4) the 4L65E is identical to the 4L60E from the outside. the gear ratios are the same and many of the parts are the same. however, the planetary gears in my tranny have 5 pinions rather than the 4 in 4L60 (hence the "5" in 4L65E). also, the clutch packs are upgraded to hi-energy clutches, the shafts are all hardened and/or shot peened, the sungear is hardened, the valvebody is recalibrated, the trans pan is upgraded to a deep pan (although i put an even deeper BBK pan on mine anyway). basically the 4L65E is like a stage 1 hi-po rebuilt 4L60E. it won't take crazy hp but its got some good parts and is more durable then stock. i mainly went with it because it carried a 1 year/12K mile warranty and it was a NEW tranny when it went in my car, no rebuild, ZERO miles (just made me feel better about it). So far i can't complain about the tranny at all. it was designed by GM to go behind the LS6 and so far its standing up pretty well to my abuse. (knocks on wood ). the only downside to it is its expensive, i was able to get mine brand new for $1900 but that is wholesale. retail is around $2600 on one of these.
