Im lowered an inch and change. The only thing that scrapes on my car is the tunnel brace. Easy way to adjust Y pipe is loosen up everything from the collectors to the I-pipe. Wedge a 2x4 under the tunnel brace pull down on it . Then retighten everything

Yeah, mine hangs REALLY low on the driver's side. You can see the flattened pipe hanging as you walk towards the car.....it looks like cr@p . Almost looks like some work was done on the exhaust and the Y didn't get reinstalled evenly. I'll take care of it next time I have it on a lift.

Low stock Y-pipe

I tried to get the dealer to reposition the unsightly y-pipe shortly after I bought the car (2001) but they said it complied with the GM spec and didn't need to be raised. It appears all new Z's and SS's are like this.

So, I did it myself by loosening all of the connections to the pipe, jacking the left side up about 3/4 inch then re-tightened everything. It looks good now with no leaks, no problems and no banging, although I do have an A4.

It's hanging low for a reason. Look at it when someone else starts your engine...the suckers moves up. Thats why a lot of people complain about y pipes banging on the driver side. There are workarounds and some lift up less then others.

Thers alot more thats all I could squeeze in. As for the "stock"Y-Pipe banging??? You guys must have some serious potholes in your towns. Any aftermarket pipes going to be even lower on the left side then the flat stock pipe is now. I wouldnt lose any sleep over the occasional scrape it wont hurt anything

I wouldn't worry either. I drove thru a flood and tried to be slick and cut onto the sidewalk....what a mistake. I was grinding and scraping all over the place. The dirt on the sides of the side walk sunk and the were the round bricks/rocks place in the dirt too!!! I was hating life when I drove throught it for about 5 car lenghts. The car is fine underneath.

Mine hangs pretty low as well. You can see it when approaching the car. I was told it was normal so I don't let it bother me.

I think he meant that you shouldnt have so much in there as a mod will have you remove some of the lines.. I used to have an 8 liner myself..
