Does this sound right? (Voltage Issue)

Having trouble starting the car. 1st keyturn, absolutely nothing... Not even a crank until 2 seconds later. 2nd keyturn it will crank but die 2 seconds later... 3rd keyturn it cranks like normal.

Had the battery tested...

When car is running, Battery tests at 14 Amps... Thats normal from what I was told.

However when car is off, somehow the battery tests at 4 Amps... Like something inside the car is still on... but nothing is but maybe the Radio Clock. I checked to make sure all the lights were off, they were... So does this sound wrong to have 4 Amps running through the battery while the car is completely off and could this be the culprit of my starting issues? Thanks...

Something's definitely wrong - maybe a bad connection/battery? On a cold start I'm charging at 14.5 volts, after the car cools I'm still getting close to 12 volts even with the key off. Was the battery "load" tested? I'd disconnect the battery and read the voltage with a digital meter - then reconnect it and check again. Don't think the car will even start w/only 4V?????

Clarification: it has 14 volts or 14 amps when running? That's kind of an important distinction.

If you're only showing 4 volts with the engine not running, you've got a problem. Should be at least 12. I'd be somewhat amazed if you could turn the engine over with 4 volts.

Well like was all ready said check connections first. Then check for voltage drop while cranking to & from starter to battery. Also need to check the ignition & starter relay's & the ignition switch output.
Starters have also been known to cause an intermittant no crank condition, repeated key attempts & starter engages, then it needs a starter.

Power is drained by the alarm system and radio while the car is off. So a small drain is detectable.

Your problem can be caused by anything from ignition, to fuel to starter issues.

Needs more diagnosis...

Check fuel pressure. Maybe system isn't building enough pressure to start.

If fuel pressure was a problem, wouldn't it also have a hard time running? It seems to be driving just fine... But I really have no way of checking the fuel pressure...

I'm going to attempt to clean my terminals today and see if that helps the cause any...
