Question Do these numberst sound right?

I just got my Z yesterday, and went to the track tonight. I only got one run in before it started to rain. My car is a 6 speed, with a cat-back Flowmaster, everything else is stock

60 2.416 <--- Sucks
330 6.160
1/8 9.160
1/4 13.865 @ 104.78

With a better start i'm hoping for a 13.6

This is the first time with the Ls1 let me know your stock times so i can compare.

Thanks,
jon

You should be faster then that...You need to launch that thing better and you should run 13.3 or so I would think...

Bossman, you didn't tell us what year car, I assume a new 02' with no miles.....
Anyway, if that is the case the car definately needs to break in, after that you should be able to hammer at least a 13.5 with your current setup. Get a lid, it will be the single most HP improvement mod you can do. My times are in my sig, the devices I have used are accurate to within .05, so I'm cookin.. with just some basic bolt on mods.

Your hole shot is the problem. Your trap speed is good, which means that your car is making adequate hp. My Z is stock except for the K&N and ran 13.6 no sweat. You'll be below 13.5 easily with practice. 13.3 is definitely within reach with no changes to the car, just the driving techniques.

Considering your 60' your 1/8 looks about right what was your mph in the 1/8 should be around 82-83. I dont really know much about 1/4 times but if your not getting that much mph out of the 1/8 it would mean a slower time in the 1/4. A guy at our local 1/8mile track the other day was runnin 8.9 @ 82mph and he tried shifting about 5500 instead of 6000 and he was able to get 84mph out of it, and although his 1/8 time didnt change the car was going faster. Which would pull a better 1/4 time or atleast I think it would. But like u said you just got it and you've only made one run. Practice will greatly improve your times.

Here's the deal Bossman. I'm not an expert, but I'll tell you the little I know. Your 60 and 330 are not good. Your are about a half second off. By, the 1/8th, you've made up time. 13.8 with a start that bad is good. 104 mph trap speed is cookin' along nicely. Stage as shallow as you can. As soon as those stage lights come on, stop. General rule, your times are influenced by your stage and launch. Your trap is a good indication of hp. With 104 trap speed, you are doing something right. Just practice. Be sure to post how you did. Here's my numbers:

94 degrees 95% humidity
Best time: 13.669 @ 96.27 mph (bracket race, had to get off the gas at 1000', still won)
Best speed: 13.701 @ 101.42 mph

Talking

dont forget factors such as sea level as well.
Down here in TX its common for LS1's to tun in the 105+ range stock. I litterally just got my car a couple of weeks ago and soon will have him make its maiden pass.

I am hoping for a 13.2 or better although that may be a bit hopeful, fully stock, i dont think its all that far off for the 2002's. Besides, its feeling real strong so far.

Nice...Very nice.
Work on different types of launches and see what works for you. As I see it, you're doing fine.
