Do I need to disable VATS?
Do I need to disable VATS?
I have a 1998 Z28 and I swapped in a 99 LS1, 99PCM + 99 Harness and it will crank but will not fire up. I have fuel from the injectors but no spark. I can sometimes hear the plug wires arching but thats about it. Is this a vats issue? I think the 98 key would be similar enough to not require a vats disable. I also do not know what the resistance of the 99 car my pcm came out of would be for the vats so that I can get the correct key. My key im using is from the 98. What size resistor is needed would be hard to determine unless I can tell somehow from the pcm.
Thanks

Just drained the gas out, going to try fresh gas. Im getting gas and fuel, damn mystery issue but I think the gas is bad, suppose to be clear, my **** is super yellow, dark **** color.
Ok guys found the issue, no thanks to the guy who sold me the motor. I did a compression test and was getting about 30 in ea cylinder, some about 15 and I decided to tighten the head bolts alittle more and put some oil in the cylinders. The cylinder I did it to shot up to 140 which is the normal. I believe it is the heads/head gaskets, not the rings. The engine only has 30k and the guy informed me it was a warranty pull out for blown head gasket so probably they didnt fix it as they should or the heads were removed when it was out of the car and never had gaskets replaced.
Thanks for all the help.
