How could someone not get t-tops with their f-body???! T-tops and f-bodies go hand in hand.

You do know that the support on the t-top f-bodies is stronger than the supports on the hard tops right? There's barely anything to the hard top roof at all. If you want it to be strong I would get the t-top car.

no... t-top cars and hardtop cars internally are just about the same. Only difference on the hardtops is a thin metal bar along the edges, and the plastic? covering the top.. People have very easily converted hardtops to t-tops.

oh, and someone in the BC area just got a NBM hardtop SS.. so they do exist... up in Canada at least..

I don't see why you don't want t-tops. They are way safer then a convertible. Only time t-tops would be unsafe is if you rolled or car and they shattered, and in that case you most likely have bigger things to worry about.

Folks its the same roof pannel whether it has T-Tops or not. The T-Tops are cut into the regular roof. They all start out life as a Z28 coupe. For those who say T Tops are stronger then just the coupe roof<cough cough Bullsh$%^&T>. There are more reasons NOT to get removable pannels then benefits to them. They leak rattle squeek , I could go on forever. Best reason for not getting T-Tops is air conditioning nuff said

The leaking is true but it isn't like they all leak, if they leak you get them fixed. AC will cool you down, but some times its fun to cruise with the tops off instead. Never heard of t-tops rattling or squeaking, that'd be hard with all the weather stripping they sit on plus they lock in firm.

This is my 5th Fbody, I've owned every Gen. (43yrs old). The last two before my 02 SS, 78 Z28 & 84 Z28 had T-tops. I only took them out a FEW times a year, never when I had to park it to go in some where that I could'nt keep a eye on it,theft etc. to much of a hassled to but them back in. But both years would squeak when any twisting of the chassis occured, no matter what procautions were taken. So when it came time to order the 02 I decided hardtop. I have seen serveral post with 4th gens dripping on the driver side directly on peoples arms/chest etc. I don't blame any one for ordering a T-top version, but I will keep this car for a long time,I hope to give it to my son a few years from now, I know it will have less than 50k on it by then but I hope for it to be as new and squeak free as it is now, If he shows maturity and does well in school, and is a solid person He could have a bad *** ride in the high school parking lot

Just for the record. This is my 6th Camaro. Im 50 years old and my 1st car was a 68 Vette T-Top Coupe. Been there done that on more then 1 occasion. T-Tops are not for me. My general experiences with GMs T-Tops on more then 1 model and a few different generations of Camaros has turned me off to them. To each their own but ill stay away from them Be glad American Sunroof no longer does the T-Tops in late GM models. They just plain outright sucked

Sounds like someone is suffering from t-top envy.

If I would of wanted T-Tops I would of ordered them when I placed my order. My car is lighter than a t-top car(3375), it won't squeek, rattle, or leak. So no I don't have envy, I have pity for you with t-tops. Just wait, yours will leak and rattle eventually.

Besides, I have my 67 SS Chevelle convertible if I want to have the wind blow my hair.

I highly doubt that. I never had the first problem with my 97 camaro which had t-tops. Never leaked or rattled. I doubt that I'll have any problem with my WS6 either. T-tops probably begin to rattle when someone beats the p|ss out of their car, twisting the body around. I take extremely good care of my car, and if I ever have problems with leaks, I'll just replace the seals. If I have problems with rattles, I'll get sub frame connectors. I shouldn't run into any t-top problems for another 10 years.

NO envy here whatso ever. Ive had enough GM cars with T-Tops to know better then to ever get them again. To those who have them good luck and Happy motoring.I hope you dont have any problems but the odds are stacked way against you in the long run
PS cars are made to be driven NOT babied and or pampered lifes to short not to own alot of different cars
