did I miss anything?

So as soon as I gather all my parts I'm going to start my H/C install. I need you guys to check over anything that I might have missed.

All this is on my list of parts or I have already bought:

Patriot gold kit w/ dual springs (speedinc) ".650: $250
Futral F13 112: $400
LS2 chain: $46
Head gaskets: ?brand/price?
Hardened rods comp. : $120
Valves: ?brand/Size?/price (was thinking manley 2.02/1.57)
thats all i can think of at the moment

Re: did I miss anything?

alright I guess I'm good to go. Should I go with ARP for all my bolts? What about pushrods, if I deck my heads .020, will I have rod legnth problems or should the right head gaskets fix that?

The difference in the base circle of the stock/aftermarket cam and how much you deck the heads by will be a decent measure of where your pushrod length needs to be. The best thing to do would be to get a pushrod length checker for $20 from Speed, Inc. and measure the right length for lifter pre-load. Then, there's no guessing.

FYI - http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...ht=preload+F13

Looks like you should invest in 7.425 hardened pushrods with the heads shaved .020.

Well then you have to put stock sized valves back in unless you're going to take the heads to a machine shop and have the stock 2.00/1.55 valve seats cut out and new 2.02/1.57 valve seats installed and the complete valve grind job done. And then you'd have to re-port that area to match the new valve sizes.

Re: did I miss anything?

thats the plan. I havent touched the seat area yet, just the access material around the guides and I did some smoothing around elsewhere.
