Dash Lighting Up after hard shifting or bump
Dash Lighting Up after hard shifting or bump
Recently, I have noticed that when I'm driving and hit a bump or take a turn a little quick, every light on my dash turns on, prabably happened 10-15 times within the last 3 months, just like when you turn the ignition on, and after a few seconds they all go off. At first I thought it was transmission or rearend related, b/c the first time it happened was shortly after the cam install and shifting through gears is pretty violent now(meaning when I shift its neck breaking to unsuspecting passengers). Its a full-bolt & cammed car making 400RW. Anyway, yesterday I removed my SLP linelock b/c it was a POS to begin with and my brakes weren't working 100%. So after taking it off I'm driving for 5mins, make a controlled left turn, and every light comes on. Keep driving and my car stalls while I'm driving the engine kicks back over and starts up again still while I'm moving. So I pull over and take a visual check on battery connections and fuses from the line lock, which I left plugged in and see nothing wrong. Start driving home, while stopped at a light, car stalls again, just manully start it up and drive home. I took it out this morning and didn't experience any issues. Does anyone have any experience with there entire dash lighting up, its either some electrical connection which must be getting loose once I shift hard through gears or hit bumps, or something with my trans or rear, I have no clue other then that. Any suggestions
Re: Dash Lighting Up after hard shifting or bump
Sounds like you don't have a solid connection in the ignition or something is interupting the power source (your battery). I'd double check all the wiring that was done with the line lock and any other aftermarket, powered device. After that, check the steering column and factory harness to make sure it's not shorting or grounding on bare metal.
Re: Dash Lighting Up after hard shifting or bump
Sounds like a loose ground wire. Start by checking the two grounds that mount on either side of the air box on the front support and then check each ground on top of each fender. Just make sure the bolts are tight.
