Cutting out at hard acceleration

Hi guys. I am having problems with my 99 SS. It is cutting out pretty bad. We check the plugs. they are fine. Changed the fule filter. We are maybe thinking fuel pump. Just wondering if anyone had anything like this happen before.

She starts fine, but when I hit about 3500-4000 rpm. She cuts out really bad, backfires, and kills the engine. Although after dying, the engine starts right back up.

Anyone have any ideas?

It will vary. Sometimes it will cut out at 3K when I am calmly on it. Most of the times, it is when I gun it.

Someone on LS1.com mentioned that the wires might be bad. They are Taylor 8mm i think. I can't remember exactly what I bought. Anyone else have problems with these or any aftermarket wires?
