cutout question

I can't afford an exhaust system right now and was thinking of getting a cutout.Where on the exhaust system does it go?Is it before or after the cats? How much does install usually run?

Either before or after, your choice.Install shouldn't be more than $25 at a muffler shop.

Uh ... it can't go before the cats. You want it either in the I-pipe just before going over the axle. Or just before going into the muffler - zed style.

If you a primarly after power I would recommend before the axle. No point in pushing the exhaust any furhter than you need to.

If you're going to run it open all the time, zed style. A little mellower sound and less resonance in the cabin.

Depending upon where you're at, install can range from $25 to $50.

Good Luck

Correct,I thought he meant before the I-pipe Some of my friends have theirs right where the I-pipe and Y-pipe meet.

Well I have a flowtech cut out and it did definitly help my 1/4 times I went from a 13.8 to 13.5 with just it. It sound nice from the outside but on the inside mine rattles the metal in the car right under the right rear passenger seat. Im taking it out in favor of a borla if offers the same free flowing with really nice tips and wont rattle stuff internally. Also mine was welded right after the y-pipe meets the exhaust.

Are you asking me? At any rate I'll answer. It sounds great. Besides I have headers and an off-road ypipe. So its VERY LOUD!! I consistantly dyno a 12rwhp increase at the top end with it uncapped vs. capped.
