Re: cutout location

I put mine on the i-pipe, under the rear seat on the right side. Its the only place it will tuck up nicely out of the way. Or you could delete the muffler and have the tip run out the back.

I think the cutout would be louder because the exhaust doesn't have to travel up over the axle. But I don't know, just speculation. I also bet if it dumped behind the rear axle, with a tip directing the sound out the back and away from the car, it wouldn't drone as much as a cutout or vibrate and rattle the interior like a cutout.

I know on my LS1 that it is impossible to have the cutout before the cats because they are so close to the exhaust manifolds. I bet you couldn't do it on your LT1 either.

Re: cutout location

I'm so suprised that you guys with the cutouts didn't run into the same troubles that I have with mine. (shock blown... bah bah bah) Did ya angle it down, or strait to the rear seat area. I think that's where this one went wrong. cause there were burn marks and carbon deposits all over the right rear suspension/seat well. If I wouldn't have cleaned it up I would have taken a picture to show you what I saw. If you can tell me that ya'll are ok, I might open it up for the track this weekend. I just don't feel good since I had to replace the rear shocks on my car because of it.

I have the exact same problem with my car. Although I haven't blown a shock. I think it is running rich though, its in the shop for the pinion seal and to check for a rich condition today.

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one that noticed that.
